Hey everyone,

Location: Bay Area, CA

1978 Honda CB550K
Carburetor: Keihin PD46C
Carburetor Kit: (Randakks) CB550K - 1977-1978 - Repair with Jets (#90 Main)
4 - 1 Exhaust
Air Filter: Random Pods, I cannot find a stock airbox locally or anywhere else in general because it's not complete entirely nor do i have donor bikes locally. So Stock Airbox is not currently an option

Stock Airbox/Filter: Missing 100% + Too hard to find a complete airbox setup

Has anyone successfully found a good running Keihin PD46C Carbs setup (# Jets, etc) with pods or stacks + 4 -1 Exhaust that can be tuned and sync properly?

What is your parts list (including pod size and carbs parts list)?

Welcome aboard the forum from NH but currently riding across the country on my goldwing

That is a real tough one to get a good answer.
Have you read through this topic on running pods?

What are "Random Pods"? Are they something you have now, and are trying to tune for, or are you asking which pods are the best? If the latter, you want K&N oval pods.
Regarding the jets, are they genuine Heihin jets? #90 sounds small, is that the stock size for your model?

Ya it’s what’s on the bike so unsure, I plan on wanting to just order new so I know what I have. K&N seem to be the go to.

#90 is what is factory stock for my model

I have heard 105-115 being good but nothing definite

I want to tune in the end of course I just want to make sure the carb is built correctly so I’m not having too much of an issue with tuning

Since 90s are stock, I think I would start with 98s or 100s. (Some of the earlier carbs came with 98s stock.) The stock jets have a stylized "K" mark like a four-pointed star on them.
