Battery Terminal Boots
« on: November 19, 2025, 09:34:03 AM »
Does anyone know what are the correct OEM insulator boots for CB750? 1 black and 1 red? Do they take a 90 degree right turn? Are these available from anywhere (I have looked)?

Not usually one on the neg side, dont matter if it touches

I'm not a 750 guy.
However, for the 750 (KO), CMS shows black, 90 degree covers for positive side. Didn't show any covers for the neg.
Showed the same for a '74 model.

I like the ones that come on the the cables from vintagecb750. They look like the originals.

They have changed back & forth from red to black to red before, from Honda. I have some old ones, and in both colors, for the (3) 750s I'm slowly rebuilding for sale someday. On the ones I have, the covers are the same color on both ends(!), whether black or red.

Sometimes they are available at PartsNmore/VintageCb750, too. Some of them have a 14 awg red or red/white wire on the starter's end of the cable, but some don't. On those bikes where the small wire wasn't in the battery-side ring terminal, a separate red/white wire with ring terminal fit on top of the (+) side and went to the bullet connector in the harness by itself. This came and went during the K4-5-6 era.
See SOHC4shop.com for info about the gadgets I make for these bikes.
