Hm300 baffle bolts
« on: December 13, 2025, 02:44:29 PM »
It seems Honda put a gob of weld at the end of the 6mm bolts, correct? Does one’ grind off these with say a dremel? Otherwise they break & have to be drilled out & tapped which doesn’t always work out so well! Parts book just says 6x12mm, I would think chrome not zinc…?

I don't remember them being tack welded but it's been a while since I had new ones. Either way, I would grind the ends before twisting on them.

Never thought of that and you may be right. Some come out easily and others do seem to be tacked in place. Giving them a little buzz might be a good idea!

P.S. the latest replica pipes I got from Yamiya come out easily, no issue.

Yea these are old/original I believe. I tried heat beforehand but ended up drilling out 2 & still have that “wad” of weld left behind.
