Fitted a dyna ignition and points cover , the old one is scratched bad

You mentioned carbs; I don't know if the '77 F carbs are the same, but the K7 carbs have impossibly small float bowl vents, that if plugged can cause all sorts of tuning issues.
   Changed the pilot jets today and checked these . 2 were blocked , all good now . Thanx scottly

Beautiful build.  Looks great.  Note the picture below from PD41A's on my 78F.  The vent holes on all 4 are plugged with brass.  Interesting why yours would be open.  Might be why I have consistently fought tuning issues.  Again, great job on your bike..

Majorzozo , isnt the other thing the vent ? Surely there must be a vent somewhere or you would get a vapour lock ?

That bad boy is plugged also.  It looks like the PD42A's must share a vent.  The only vent I can see is the one on the left side of carb #2, just forward of the main fuel line.  Not trying to hi-jack your thread, just trying to learn.  All the best and please keep us informed on any running issues.  Thanks....

Put in the 40 pilots , fired right up and was able to rev straight away . Seems like a win , now just have to wait for the rains to stop and I can go for a ride . Did notice something with the fitment of the airbox to carbs . The carbs have that steel bracket that fits into the notch on top of the F and K`s airbox ( pee diddies ) keyhole carb specific I suppose . Mine touches and I found out this time around , is why I have trouble mating the airbox back up most times . Could be time for a heat gun
