Steve…. Those pipes are the supply and return from a hot water tank just outside the shop (in an insulated box). The pump feeds the wall mounted manifold to three heating loops laid through out the concrete floor slab. Power to the pump is controlled by a centrally mounted thermostat.

Nice setup!!, keeps the floor toasty for when you have to get down on it!

Works well. I have the pump power on a 24 hour timer that only allows it to run from  midnight to 6:00am ( during off peak Hydro hours) to keep hydro costs in check. Once the slab is warm, it keeps the shop above freezing all day.

If we had freezing here I'd have to run it in the daytime so my solar panels and battery could handle the load, for that matter, the water would be heated by the sun too.

Those bikes are ridiculously tall. In 2019 when we rode to be Deadwood my buddy rode his KTM 1290 Super Adventure he wanted me to try it out. I could get going but I would have had to have him catch me when coming to a stop, my feet were nowhere near the ground. 8)

How tall are you?  I find at my height of 5'6" all new adventure bikes are too tall for me.  I rode the KLR650 in South America and I found the bike to be a little too tall for me.

I’m OK. 6’ and long inseam. Good thing too, the Varadero is easily as tall as the 2008 Kawasaki KLR650 I had before it!

I’ve decided to pass on the Africa Twin. The guy won’t budge on price and he is at the very top end of the scale. He’s also a 1000 miles away. My grandson is spending more and more time on the Honda CRF I built him a few years ago. He’s also going further and further so it’s time for another one. Either his Dad or I can then tag along and make sure he gets home. His Mom is not a huge fan, so this might help……

Well I used to be 5' 7" until I broke my back, now I'm 5' 5" but I have a 30" inseam. With my big boots on I can manage my 94' Kawasaki Concours 1000 but barely. The adventure bikes are just to damn tall. It's ok though because I like long distance rides and sleeping in hotel rooms better than sleeping on the ground. 8)

Kelly….. Hotel/Motel is the only option. Tents are for kids.
