This news of his passing really shocked me(I know, his age  ::) )hit me Hard, like a ton of bricks.  :o :o   :'(
Mr. Barber made it his life's work to build all that and make it all The Best he knew how  :) and I don't want to see any of his work made less-of than he made it.  :)

I hope he left his legacy to The Person who will make a long-term commitment for years of taking very Good care of it,like he did.

I hope the new Caretaker/Owner of this estate refuses to sell the adjacent property around there for a large enough noise cushion? to keep the racetrack open and racing for as many days/hours to suit all the racers. A Very wonderful place !

they've started building subdivisions close to and around the track.
I'm sure the complaints of noise will be in the future.

this happens a lot over here . most of the old tracks have noise restrictions and limits on how many days they can be used .what sort of idiot buys a house next to brands hatch then moans about the sound of racing .

Same thing happened here in the 90's. Seattle International Raceway was outside of Kent Wa. and some developer built behind the track and the noise complaints began. Now there's all kinds of stupid rules just because a bunch of whiners bought a house near the track and started complaining. So the few got their way and the gearheads paid the price again.

yep..it looks insignificant in the pic (red circle). In reality it's closer than it looks. Wasn't there last year.
