Newbie cdwicks....
« on: May 02, 2007, 12:30:24 PM »
Hey everybody!  I have a similar story to the guy greenjeans who is rebuilding a bike that has been stored for a while.  Mine is a 1978 CB750K.  I picked it up for $300 and I hope to use the "elbow grease" approach rather than throwing money at it!  I will begin my rebuild thread ASAP!!

Little does he realize that it'll take elbow grease AND money.

Welcome.  We look forward to the rebirth.

Welcome. We don't throw money at them. It's more like an offering to the gods. ;D

If it wasn't for Surly I would have to burn it, SHMBO tells me at year end if I haven't spent my budget I'll get less the next year.

Welcome to the group.

Sup!

I'm a fellow 78'er with a cb750F.

Best of luck mate, unfortunately it'll cost you more than you think.

Fortunately you'll love spending your money on it.

Have a blast & keep the rubber side down.

Cheers Mate!

Thanks for the ominous predictions.  I'm positive ya'll know what you're talking about.  I doubt anyone ever gets an old bike and says, "Man I hope I can pour ALL of my money into this thing!  That would be AWESOME!"
