Topic: CB 750 rocker arms

Hi All:

I have a pile of rocker arms from 72-75 vintage Cb750's that have "voids or scratches?" on the foot (where it rubs the cam) that look like they exceed the case hardening of the surface. These "scratches" are perpendicular to the cam running, so when the cam passes over them, the cam would not toch the softer metal. My question ...are these junk, normal casting flaws, usable or what?? Any one used arms in this condition?

I thought hey were hard chromed and as long as the plating wasnt lifting they are OK

You can see the plating go. They can be hard welded through Megacycle but new ones are cheaper. Are they good??? At least for hardwelding.
