         Nick is on the right track. :D    It is Italian and in no way related to H-D!   Also Nick, there was a 500cc OHC Jawa back in the 50's that so folks hadn't heard about and ESO (that was a part of the Jawa/CZ bunch) was a 4 stroke too. Just some extra info thrown in there about  Jawa/CZ ;)

             Hey Mick,

                     inside that case, is a set of gears and the top one is actually the camshaft. That places the cam on the side of the cylinder.
