Topic: starting on a work shed for the bikes

Well, the wifee has finally realized that my motorcycle hobby isn't a passing fancy. She actually has agreed to give up the storage shed. Currently it has no power running to it and it is full to the ceiling with God-only-knows-what.

Today we dug a tunnel and routed heavy duty electrical cable that I will use to connect to a breaker box inside the shed -  which we will be cleaning it out very soon.

After the electricals are sorted out, I am building a painting area with a fire proof exhaust fan. Then I'll be cutting out a section to facilate a 110 AC unit. (Gotta have that in the Texas summer!)

The shed isn't as big as I would prefer, but it will be an improvement.

Don't forget to leave space for a modest sized beverage fridge. And also don't forget to lock it up whenver you are done working. The shed that is, not the fridge.

          Meanwhile, my wife still thinks of my stuff as "Junk."   She doesn't gripe about it as much as
          she used to. so that's a good thing.  Next thing you know, you'll be posting pictures of your

Funny how 'they' classify things as junk. Our house started life with three (3) very small closets. I guess folks didn't have much in the way of clothes 65 yrs. ago. Through various additions, and renovations over the years, we have 40 linear feet of hanging space in new closets in addition to the orginal three. Guess how much of that space is mine?

         Hey Bob, I don't really have much, in the way of clothes, and I've got even less of a place to TRY to hang them! My wife and my daughter need their space and mine while needing more!

        Let me tell you all another one. Everytime we get a bit cramped on space to put things, my wife says something like,"If it weren't for your "Junk In The Garage", wed have room to put our things!   Did you get that? Their stuff is "THINGS" and my stuff is "JUNK!" Oh well, I've gotten to where I ignore the comments and keep on truckin'!

I must be a really lucky fellow then. Apart from the freezer, my missis considers the garage as being 'Nicks space' and doesn't make any demands of it....you know, like asking to park her car in it. We do have the luxury of a covered carport too, so she never has to scrape frost or snow off the car.

        duster, you got that right! Then, if I was to put some to put some of that "Stuff" out in the garage, and it got ruined somehow, guess whose fault it would be! Of course I've never had a garage that I could put my car and/or minivan into. I'd have to have a mighty large garage to hold everything!

        My Dad has a double depth 2-car garage! I'd be in heaven, if I had that much room!

Same here!   My wife keeps her bicycle in the garage and that's it.  She also knows that if she ever wants a motorcycle, it can live in the garage, too.  But the garage is strictly off limits to cars and "junk".  It probably helps that I keep it pretty clean and organized so she can't accuse me of storing junk in it and not letting her do the same.

           Nick, you really ARE a lucky fellow! I've got a buddy whose wife doesn't try to interfear with his "Motorcycle Activities" and even encourages him! Isure wouldn't know how to act! Ah, it's not too bad though. It could be worse, I know.

I met my boyfriend four years ago. I told him he could ride on the back and that he should get his own license. He is now into his 3rd year of driving nothing else but a motorcycle.
Last year I got him into tinkering on bikes as well and now we're doing up de '76 CB 750 together althought I'm still the techie..
We're currently looking for our own house. It has to include a garage cause where else can I work on my bikes and put my gear...
We're not extinct you'll just have to look real hard!!!!
