Vesrah Clutch Plates
« on: October 04, 2007, 07:22:41 AM »
I just did a thorough search of the forum and found lots of great info on clutch replacement.  I'm experiencing some pretty serious slip with my 77 750F and shopping for good replacement parts.  From what I've read, OEM plates and discs with stiffer aftermarket springs seems like the way to go but I don't like the idea of spending $125 for factory plates/discs.  I've heard bad things about Barnett's fibers (sticking, surging) and I found another brand called Vesrah.  Anyone used these parts before?  If I can't find an after-market brand that other SOHC owners recommend, I'm just going to get the OEM parts w/ Barnett springs.  Thanks guys.

What are the specs on the Barnett springs?  Do you have a choice between 1 1/4", 1 3/8", and 1 1/2" lengths and/or various loads?

Hey Joshua, you shouldn't even have any need for Barnett springs with new OEM parts.
We drag race with a totaly stock clutch with 86 bhp and 62 ft lb of torque, the tyre breaks traction before the clutch slips.
We have a set of Barnett springs but as yet have not needed them.
I have heard of the Vesrah plates but don't know how good they are. What sort of money are the Vesrah plates ?

I noticed that Vesrah makes springs also, per their website, and it looks like they have three skews for the older CB750s.

Vesrah were the first big aftermarket supplier into UK with disc pads, shoes etc and never had a problem with them
