stator leak culprit?
« on: May 30, 2007, 03:29:43 PM »
My 750k6 is finally running, and I'm now getting to the small things I overlooked this winter. A stator cover leak seems to have worsened  now that she lives. Its draining 200-300cc per week just sitting. There shouldn't be that much oil in there right? I took the cover off to replace the gasket and the only place I could see oil was near the starter gear. I found similar threads for CB550s but am  unsure of their anatomical differences. Any suggestions?

Hey there  this site really amazes me every time I have  an issue or just curriocity  it pops up on here I just yesterday (tuesday) put a post in on alternater leak and im thinking that  maybe if there was never a leak and it just  keeps cirulateing through the engine then we never know how much oil actually goes in there  I mean for 33 years and Ive never had one leak like  this one does (73 750 K)  I havnt dug into it yet but  when I do gonna check that little gromet that the wires run through it looked good when I put a new gasket on  this spring but  gonna take a closer look its got to be the culprit  look up that previous post good luck seven fifty four ever Craig in Maine
seven fifty four ever its not the destination its the journey Ive been collecting these old dinasours for 33 years . they are quite an ICON
