Can I change my needle clip position of my carbs without removing them from the bike?
Have a 77 550k

Yes if you have a trained spider with a mechanical bent otherwise no.
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).

I have done so with a 74 CB550.  I know the 77 carbs are a bit different, though.  Number two carb might give you grief.  I'd probably try it.  If you can do #2, the rest ought to be easy.  What's the worst that can happen if you try?  Removing the whole carb bank?

This is the one single advantage to the old 750 K0 carbs with the four individual throttle cables. Just pop the caps off, slip out the slides and change the needles or clips, just had to do it. Beyond that though, they are something of a pain.  >:(

gee I dont have to worry about it! but even with the carbs on my bike I could remove the slides if I really needed to. I think it would take longer than taking the bank off though. I may be almost as fast at that as Bob, but I dont think...nevermind Bob knows where I am going! ;D
