A morning in the garage with the boys!
« on: June 21, 2007, 11:21:32 AM »
Got up at 6 am, ate some breakfast with the boys and hit that garage.  I have 5 engines that need to be torn down and sold off before I can get to my project bike.  We were out there till lunch and I could have pounded out a few of the engines, but I let them do quite a bit of work.  Only made it through one of the 650 engines (that leaves 1 more 650 and 3 550's), but the time spend was worth the slow pace.  Here they are (not fighting for once) working together on ripping this engine apart.  ;D

Proud dad puffs out chest.

Thought I'd share the fine morning with ya guys.

Nate decided the other morning that it would be a good idea to cut Dylan's (Dillon) hair.  Can you guess who was the cutter, and who got cut?  Poor kid, I almost let Dylan cut Nate's hair to teach him a leason but I decided against it.

Good stuff Cleveland :)  The boys will remember the happy days with their Dad. Hair cutting? Those events will be fun stories down the road - these years are good practise for the heavy episodes that come later when they are 14 and 16 like mine.  Enjoy your day!

Excellent stuff. Bonding opportunites like that are the foundation for great memories in the future. Trouble is, they grow up so fast. It seems like only yesterday that my two were that age. 29 and 26 now!

SWEET!

This is the best kind of gift your boys can have.  The memories of this stuff makes for a better life now and later.  Good for you all.

And I was thinking I was the only Ahole who made the kid(s) work.   And I also have pics to prove it.

Funny thing is I have to ride them to get them to clean their room, but they fight over who gets to clean the fenders.  Go figure.  ::)

We finally gave up on my daughter when she was younger. We just kept the door closed. ;) The only other rule was no food in the room. Seemed like a good rule if she wasn't going to clean. ;D

Clev,

Cute kids, they must look like their momma. :D

Seriously, I remember when my grandfather and dad would let me into the garage.  Those are still my fondest memories.

I had a hair cut like that once, but it was self imposed at age four.  It is amazing that I still have ears.

So who spilled all of the oil in the background?

What oil?  :-[  LOL!  I thought I drained all the engines, but one of them I guess I never got around to.  I must go through a million card board boxes and a dump truck full of cat litter every month.  ;)

             Cleveland,

That's the way I got my start. My Grandfather & my Dad had a motorcycle shop that my Grandfather started in 1932. My Dad was 7yrs old and got his start in that shop, Then I came along in 47' and  when I got old enough to walk, I got to start taking motors and things apart. Then , when I was 14, I had to put my first street motorcycle together from scratch. At the time, I thought it was totally unfair to have to do it that way. Later, a few years later, I was able to appreciate the experience.

                                                           Later on, Bill :) ;)

Riiiight. ::)  Those kids are either wired or sleeping.  I don't think they don't have a middle ground.  Me on the other hand...............well, I needed 2 cups of coffee to crawl out of bed.  ;)
