Electrical HELP! ARRRRGHHH!
« on: July 13, 2007, 03:28:08 PM »
So I took off the ape hangers my 73 750 K3 came with to put stock bars back on. After much  struggling, got the wires all out of the old bars and into the stock ones. Now all I have to do is plug matching wires back together right.....? Wrong, for some reason, there are wires on the bottom end coming from the headlight that do not match up colorwise with those in the bars. Is this normal, is there some sort of a code for this, will I need a shop manual, should I shoot the prior owner? Any help would be much appreciated, I want to ride!

Download the manual from here:

I had (almost) the same experience last week - luckily, I made LOTS of notes when taking them apart.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the tip on the manuals, I downloaded them, but when I got to the wiring diagram in part 6, it was too blurry when I zoomed in. Any further advice. Unfortunately, no notes were taken during disassembly, I took it for granted that they would all match up. Last time I do that.

Maybe this link will help.  There's a color diagram for the K3.

If its all standard Honda it is colour to colour and any extras aint used. If the switches or loom is different no diagram anywhere will help you will have to sit there with an ohmeter and sort out what each wire does and lable it as per the Honda pic
