Hi everyone! I'm new to the site and thought I'd give an introduction in between my lurkings.
My name is Ed. I'm 26, a father of 2 5 y/o twins, and live near Erie PA. I'm sure I seem young, compared to many of you, but don't let that fool you. I grew up around bikes, getting my first one when I was 10. My dad had a great Yam chop and one of my first memories, and best one, is riding with him as a young pup. Years later he gave me the chance to restore it and ride but I was a broke teen and couldn't swing it. I just bought a 73 CB500, my first street bike. Got it for $100, what a deal! She runs good but is a bit on the ugly side at the moment (rust/dirt). In the last week I've removed the tank and front fender. The tank was stripped and as of about an hour and a half ago, is sitting in primer. The fender is next on the list. Everything will be getting a coat of ultra-flat black within the next few days. I'll be sure to provide some pics of the build process as it comes along. I've still got a lot to learn and a lot of lurking to do to learn it. I look forward to being here for a while and picking your brains for those tid-bits of info I can't find anywhere else.
