Where would you send wheels to get laced?
« on: July 14, 2007, 10:14:29 AM »
I need to get a set of wheels laced together. Honda hubs with Yamaha hoops, anyone have a good suggestion for getting them to work together? I don't mind shipping them, but I want them done right, as they will after all be the only thing connecting me to the road...

There's a place near here called "Wally's Wheel Works", I think it is, in Englewood, CO.
They rebuild car and bike wheels, get them rechromed, etc. They have their own boneyard for bike parts, including a bunch of vintage-era Hondas, Kaws and Yams, even some Suzys, sort of a "one-of-each" inventory.
See SOHC4shop.com for info about the gadgets I make for these bikes.

They have done good for me.

But, it looks like they are booked up solid for a couple months :-\

When the majority of the United States population get to be 70 years old, they will finally realize what is really important. And by then it'll be too late.

Hello SClay,

I will strongly second the nomination of Buchanan..........

Not cheap, but then, they do nothing but top of the line work............

Yeah I don't care about them being 'cheap' or not. I want the best I can afford, and I'll open the wallet up a little more for, as I mentioned, the only thing that connects me to the road. Now Buchanan, you can do what I am proposing? Send them your hubs and hoops, and they will make spokes and such to put it all happily together?

Well this is a 350 Twin, with 36's. And the hoops are XS650 material. Which I am understanding are 36 as well. I have seen some sets of them laced together, so I'm thinking it can be done. Hoping maybe is a better word...
