I was into European stuff for some reason.  My very first car was an MGA Coupe (red of course) that I bought for $500.  Hey- it was just a used car then.
I did buy a '51 Dodge because when the owner opened the trunk, Walnuts came opuring out.  I said, "I'll take it !"
Here's a shot of the only car I ever took a picture of- '54 Citroen.  Fun car.
Dude- your 8 layers are showing!

WOW I am impressed Ernie, you had $500. I only had $100 so I had a 55 Ford with rust a few inches below the door handles.

When you had $100 in your pocket, you took the first deal you could get. When my lovely Ford was killed by a VW Beetle who disobeyed a traffic cop, they gave me $500 since I was shaken up and I bought a 1959 Chevy.

Ernie, i read a story when I was kid about a red MG something (wish I could remember the name of it).
Anyway I was smitten with the European car bug but a Citroen never....until I saw that picture of the 54.
Citroen actually once made a nice looking car.  ;D ;D ;D ;D I stand corrected.

First car was a 56' Plymouth. Bought it for $49 in 66'. Wouldn't start, had a stretched timing chain. ::) Traded it, in 67' for a 58' Chevy Impala w/ the 348 motor. Right after I shipped out to Misawa AFB in Japan (Dec 1967), my Dad sold it for $50. I was NOT a happy camper! >:( Kinda hard to do anything when you're across the pacific ocean! >:( No sense in going on about that now.

                                      Later on, Bill :) ;)

first car was a Triumph TR-3. Never ran before my dad had it taken to the junkyard before I had a chance to drive it in late 1969... ???
He did not want a 14 year old w a car in his house.

I wasn't around in the 50's, and drove my Big Wheel/Bananna Bike throughout the 60's. Bought an Opel Cadet for $50, rebuilt the engine for another $300 then sold the POS for $350.  Then it was on to a '68 Pontiac Catalina w/400 big block.  Old & tired, but boy did she run.
