What the Outlaw has been up to lately...
« on: August 22, 2007, 12:34:34 PM »
Ok...as some of you know i was dismissed from my job as a tire technician due to a back injury. I wound up relaxing and riding for most of july..near the begining of this month i started a job at a pizza place as both a cook and a driver...now less then 3 weeks into it i quit....but for a very good reason..besides the stress i was facing with that job..i had a phone call from the security company i had applied with back in july and had an interview with in july...i had this call on monday...got my criminal record check done..I begin training today....This outlaw is actually gonna be on the side of the law for awhile  ;D ;D

Welcome to the club Outy  :D ;D ;D you've gone down the same path as myself.

My back was in pieces 15 years ago. At the time I was a TV aerial a sattellite engineer.

I was out of work for 7 years then got into the security game.

The money was crap and it was only the long hours that made it a living.

The security company I worked for were coming to the end of the contract at the place I worked but couldn't give me a finishing date.

They had no other work in my area so I started looking for another job.

I managed to get an in-house security job with a lot more money  for a lot less hours  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I now have shares in the company and will be here until I decide to retire. 8) 8) 8)

I am in a very comfortable office with not a lot to do other than surf the net all night long. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Good luck in your new job.

Sam. ;)

The best Lawmen were outlaws. Takes one to know one. Look luck man.

But we were boys, and boys will be boys, and so they will. To us, everything was dangerous, but what of that? Had we not been made to live forever?

So, are you going to be walking/driving or sitting at a screen at work?

Well, I could certainly do without one of those "Episodes of ER", unless it was on TV. ::) But every job has something that we'd just as soon not have to do, huh? ??? Glad that you are doing good though. I'll tell ya, those malls sure do have a variety of different folks, don't they? ??? We went up to the Mall one Friday evening and there were some folks there that made me just a bit nervous. :-\ I was somewhat relieved when we left and headed home. :) Things sure have changed a lot over the past few years. We used to go quite a bit but got spoiled by "Wally World". ::) I mean, I can now travel about a mile and a half and I'm there. I can pretty much get anything I need there, except bike parts (of course).

I worked security at a hospital here in Toronto for a while in my college years...I'll warn ya in advance that most of these guys have a weird sense of humour and watch out for the initiation process! For me it was being sent down to do a morgue run (we were the ones that had the keys and had to let the coroner in etc). Man that room/fridge is really creepy! Anyways I got down there to retrieve someone and I couldn't get the light to come on and then one of the other guards who was hiding on one of the stretchers jumped up and scared the living crap outta me!!! Also, we were right down the street from a major mental hospital so we had some interesting characters wander down to see us...all in all aa fairly good job but the pay was crap so I found something that paid better.

Congrats on the new gig....
