And raining like hell every day?  I feel bad, like I'm neglecting my girl; but, damn, it's miserable outside.  I refuse to ride around in shorts, tank-top, and sandals.

We've had a fairly warm summer, but I doubt it is/was as hot and humid as your summers. It was 88F today and I rode jacket (black :(), gloves, boots, etc. As long as I'm moving and all vents open, still comfortable. However, leaving and coming back into town, getting stuck at the one or two lights I encounter, gets a bit toasty, quickly.
We'll all be someone else's PO some day.

NO you are not.My son was home for almost two weeks from the Navy. I had worked to get a bike ready for him to ride, but the whole time he was here it was 100+ so we did not get to ride.Just too hot. Dannie

The heat doesn't bother me, the afternoon torrential storms do.  I'm not against riding in the rain, I just hate the clean-up and the accelerated rust/corrosion it puts on my baby despite the clean-up.

If I had a bike that I didn't care about (as far as appearance and such), then I would be riding every day.

In fact, as soon as my Hodaka gets the engine back from the re-builder and I get it wired, I'm gonna be riding it every single day, with the Honda reserved for good weather.

I ride to work pretty much every day.  Full leather jacket & nylon rain pants in 90+ deg-F is no fun, but not horrible.  Rain isn't too bad, unless it's a gully washer.  Oh, did I mention I only have a mile to ride to/from work?  ;D
Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

I hear you.  Here in WI we have had that hot and humid stuff.  Not even fun on an open bike.  So to get my fix I was riding early in the AM.  Just to hot afternoon.  On the Wing would kill you with all that wind protection.  So I was riding the CM400's open and old school style.

It's ben pretty blazing here in Michigan as well. I've been getting out and riding though. I also agree that riding in shorts/sandals is a no-no in my book. It might not be much safer in jeans and a tshirt, but at least you don't look like a dip#$%*.

I'm working on other folks bikes so much there is little time to ride. It is a real balancing act.....I like making tax free money but I have 3 bikes that sit there. Expertise is great and I appreciate helping those in the riding community but I think I have to cut back next summer. BTW....I work in a school system so the summers are off....(not really)! I like porting heads in the late fall and winter months. ;)

;D  It's absouletely perfect riding weather here in Maine.

75 degrees and sunny.  Don't feel bad though, August is always perfectly dry and sunny, September is always dreary and rainy, October is always foggy and cold and clammy, and it starts snowing in November...

If it weren't for August, no one would live here  :D

And I thought Minnesota was bad.  I could only take 5 years.
I rode this evening about 6:30 or so.  It was mid eighties and really nice.  Last Sat we rode out to have breakfast & BS with some other old farts, but coming back around noon it was just too hot do anything but go home.  Surely it will cool off?  ??? ??? ;D

Here in New Hampshire, like Maine, our season is short. So I ride the ole girl to work (27miles one way) any chance I get, rain or shine, hot or cold. But I ride jacket (leather) & helmet no matter what, it's cheaper than a skin graft. Sometimes it can get pretty toasty but it's well worth it and always a fun time.

I was in Nashua area for couple of weeks, (got home on 21st Aug) weather felt fantastic compared to Florida.
I haven't ridden in about 3 months as I regularly get stuck in traffic on I-4 going to work, its no fun with sweat running down your back (or legs and filling up your boots)
I'll start again at end of September, not because it cools down much but humidity is lower

I can't wait for mid-October to get here.  The temps will calm down a bit and the rain will calm down a bit; but hurricane season still has a month or so to go.  I guess late-fall, winter, and early spring are Florida's riding months.

Anyone from the Pheonix area? On the news last night they mentioned they set a new record there, 29 days of temps in excess of 110oF. Now that's hot even if it is dry heat. :o

I don't know that I've ever uttered the phrase "it's too hot to ride today". ???  Sure, it gets a little sticky inside the leather jacket and helmet, but I'd almost always rather be on the bike than in my car.

+1.

Driving the car today only because I need to haul parts out to the old Triumph.  I figure driving a car for the sake of a motorcycle is okay... ;)

Here in sunny Phoenix Arizona we've had close to 30 days of 110+ temps.  Should drop below 100 the beginning of October! >:(    I'll probably ride tomorrow but I usually limit my riding to early Saturday and Sunday mornings when it's somewhat cooler...high 80's to low 90s!  I personally don't mind the heat but I often wonder if those high temperatures could reek havoc on my bike.

But hey it's a dry heat!

Ride Safe!

Dude, move to Cali.  I've ridden everyday since I got here last year except for the few times I had to take big stuff to work.  I went from an annual bike mileage of about 3k miles to 13k.  My poor Mustang gives me dirty looks every time I ride off.  It's rained maybe three times this year and we had one frost warning.  I was a wimp and drove the day they said there could be frost on the road in areas.
