Too bad he will probably get off easy, but it does present a thought...

Why not install a lowjack on your bike(s)?
I wonder how large they are, and how much they cost...

They make a motorcycle version.  Quite a few sport bikes have them.  Lots of plastic to hide it.

theyre about 600 dollars us i believe as well as a largish service charge for recovering the bike i understand.
