SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 22
ride LEAVES at 1PM
starting at 740 N Page (just off of the yellow max line, at interstate and albina, near the widmer brewery). the route will be as follows:
-North on interstate blvd. to Columbia
-East on Columbia to 33rd
-North on 33rd to marine drive
-East on marine drive to Troutdale
-From Troutdale, we will take the Columbia gorge Scenic highway through Corbett, and then turn onto Larch mountain road
there is a 360 degree view from the top at 4000 feet, from where you can see mt. hood, mt. jefferson, mt. baker, mt. ranier, mt. saint helens, and a beautiful view down the columbia river towards portland. the road is windy, but is almost all wide consistent curves-- fun to power through, but not too tough for the novice rider. if anyone lags behind in larch mountain road, it is only 14 miles to the top at which point we'll rendevous and decide the route home.
the ride is roughly 2 1/2- 3 hours, depending on the pace and the return route.
