New Quick Quack
« on: September 21, 2007, 04:35:25 PM »

I traded the old Duck for a newer one so I can do some long hauls,
has panniers and all with it, and it is pretty damn fast ;D ;D ;D

where is your fridge now? outside?  ;D ;D ;D

I'm going to have to plan a trip for next summer, that will be plenty of time to stock up
on sufficient refreshments ;) ;) ;)

In the meantime, you'll be getting cabin fever this winter I'm sure,
I have a supply on order for refreshment down here ;D ;D ;D

Next summer?  - its only two days each way. ;D   How does the fairing/windshield compare with the Viper on the 77F at highway speed?

Is that the ST2 or ST4?  I hate you slightly more if it's the 4.

The windshield takes off a lot of wind, more than the viper on the F,
I also have the stock windshield for the Duc it sits about 4" lower than the
one on it now, I'll swap back on to compare.

It's the ST4

Off subject a little - RockM, do you live on the side of a mountain or was it just a foggy day in that pic. Looks cool....  8)

Yea Boats we're up on the mountain, that's a little stream valley out in front.
Not a big elevation change since Floyd county is basically a high plateau.
It was also foggy and I had hay down I was hoping to get up. We got it up today ;D ;D

How does the duc feel compared to the CB riding position wise? What i mean with that is it it more upright like the CB or crouched over the tank like a rocket?

it's slightly more forward riding position and the shifter and brake are rear set a bit more than the CB's.
It has giving me a plan for locating the rearsets on the CB too!

The position is quite comfortable, mine has 1/2" risers on the stock bars, I do have a set of clip ons for it
and the fairing was trimmed for the clip ons so I may try them out of curiosity but I can't see using them for
long hauls.

it sounds like a nice compromise riding position for someone who cant ride a crotch rocket but wants a bike thats a little more sporty then the standards.

Hey Gerhed, I should have known you'd spot that spider. I picked that one up for $100.
It's a parts car or maybe a racer, time will tell  ;D ;D
