My 55 has basically sat in the garage all summer with the new additoion to the fleet (Ducati).

But as the weather gets colder car season comes into play... ;D

You're looking at it all wrong.  I'm currently in the process of explaining to the wife why a '69 camaro is an INVESTMENT that you can drive.  No depreciation left in these cars.  Value may fluctuate a bit, but no more than the stock market.  Plus you get to DRIVE IT!  You just make car payments instead of 401K payments.  Right?  Are you with me?

Her opinion?

I am not paying $30,000 for a 40 year old car!

Guess I have to "explain" a little more...

Amen Firecracker...  Older vehicles don't have much depreciation left.

For example, my brother in law bought a '75 BMW R75/6 for $3000, rode it for 2 years, sold it for $3100, and now it is back on the market from the new owner after 2 more years for $3050.

Makes ya wonder why more people don't drive old vehicles  ;D

Believe me man I am not "rich" as you put it.
Just been smart with my money/working full time since I was 15/etc..
And I don't drive the 55 daily, I got a F-150 for that  ;D

Just ball busting ya Teal...believe me it is only my jealousy talking! Having seen your sccoots, 4 wheeled vehicles and some of the ladies in your gallery I can see you've lead a very full life!  ;) As Terry or one our friends from down under would say "good on ya mate!"

Dennis

P.S. I haven't been so smart with my money...got married and had 2 kids! Not the best financial decision but wouldn't trade it for the world ya know?
