revenge
« on: October 08, 2007, 02:25:58 PM »
early saturday morning on the way to work about 4:45 going down a two lane road about 60 mph when a large doe jumped into my lane and then just stopped.
if i had been driving a car i would have wasted that deer without a doubt in my mind
she was facing the center of the road with just enough room to go behind her so i saw my opening
this is where it gets a littlw weird
you know how things slow down when your really concentrating on a road condition?
well, the thought came into my head to reach out and grab the deers behind
so as i came around the left rear quarter of the deer i reached out and slapped that doe right on the rear end
i never saw a deer move so fast in my life
she cleared that road so fast that she left skid marks
had a smile on my face the rest of the way into work
it will be a long time before she steps out in front of me again

Are you crazy?  What were you thinking?  How could you take a job that makes you work Saturdays, much less 4:45 in the morning?

But then there's my story, or I should say my son's.  He was driving through an older, heavily wooded neighborhood at dusk when a deer came out a driveway and slammed into the side of his car.  My son never saw it.  The deer regained his composure and ran off before my son saw him.  The only way we knew it was a deer was the fur stuck in the door handle.  No time to slap the deer in the rear though.

friends of a co-worker were on the way home from myrtlebeach yeasterday, a deer tried jumping over them on their bike, caught the passenger in the face and knocked her off the bike a 70+. she was ran over by the motorcycle behind them, her husband, the rider of the first bike crashed and is in critican condition. getting to be that time of year when i wont ride at night because of the huge deer population here.
