Regarding carb rebuild kits
« on: November 07, 2007, 05:42:54 PM »
Does anyone know if the commonly available carb rebuild kits will work with "F" model bikes?  All of the kits I've seen for sale only mention "K" model CB550's, and I've read in a few places that the "F's" and "K's" are jetted differently.  Thanks in advance for any help.

Unless you find corrosion inside, there is little need to replace anything but the rubber bits.  Honda still sells the kits you need to replace the rubber.  Reuse your old jets.

The parts from a K kit will fit into the F carbs.  They meter fuel at a different rate, though. And, would be wrong for a stock F with original air filter and exhaust.

The better after market kits out there actually sold per set up number stamped on the carbs.  The F should be 069A.  K&L I think did this.
