Stupid question re master cylinder and parking brake 77 CB750A
« on: November 17, 2007, 06:26:00 AM »
#1 when caliper is off and I squeeze the lever, should a squirt of brake fluid come shooting out?  I get a few drips is all.  Hard to flush the system...

#2 to activate the parking brake, do you push or pull it?

#3 RE neutral safty switch...this thing is not supposed to start in gear, right?  Mine does...

My Helm book just showed up, so I'll be looking at that...does anyone have a spare (haha) owners manual?  Online version?? That'd help cut down on my questions, I think.

Thanks!

#1 The master cylinder should squirt a small amount of fluid out, won't be alot, the piston is pretty small. Should have some pressure behind it.

#2 To apply park brake: Depress rear brake pedal and pull out park brake button. to release, depress pedal and push button in.

#3 There is some pretty complicated wire for the neutral switch and park brake mechinism. Maybe someone has bypassed it. At least yours starts ;)..... Just found out that mine has a spun camhaft and journal.  :o

#4 I'm still hunting for an owners manual....someone has to have one.

Hope this helps

Thanks, Paul,

Just got an answer from the seller via ebay, only took 2 weeks.  The switch is broken, so the neutral light stays on all the time, but the bike does start, albeit kinda hard.  Prob needs tune up.  Of course, it is kinda cold but the snowblower starts right up....not that I need IT yet.  Going to rebuild the  MC.
