Thanks for the compliments guys! It was a real #$%* to get everything even on both sides. In the end it drove straight as an arrow, at a whopping 4 miles an hour. I was overpowered for the stock axles, and was twisting off the inner steel axle shafts. I had to buy stainless ones and they never broke. It'd climb up a 90 degree wall and not fall over. Straight up the front and over the backside of the couch. It'd also break your fingers for you.

If I EVER build another one it'll be a lot better. I learned a lot about the proper chassis shape the first time it was built. Also, if I ever build another it'll still be a one off, and the only one. They consume way too much time to make correctly, and no one would pay what it was worth.

I wanted to start a thread like this, can't believe I missed 4 pages of goodies. Here is some of mine.
Traxxas t-maxx was 2.5 updated to 3.3 except for the front end I still have to get the last of the parts to change it out to 3.3( revo style drive shafts)
A Traxxas revo 2.5r needs to be 3.3 sometime with carbon fiber chassie..
A Traxxas 3.3 Jato that will do every bit of 65mph in 4.3 seconds..
Team Assocated Rc18b gave to one of my boys
Also a Team Losi MIni-t that was given to my other boy
I will be back later..... Good luck on the race Darkrider

I was gonna start making bumpers and skid plates for the Tmaxx to sell but never got around to doing any parts runs. So far I have made a new chassie plate for the tmaxx and the Jato, I also stretched the front end of the Jato 12mm since I changed the chassie from a two stage chassie to a single stage and in doing that I had to re-design all the parts and servos to mount to the single chassie plate. I haven't paid attention to the weight savings on the Jato but I have managed to shave two pounds off of the tmaxx.
The real fun will be when I can get the money to go over the revo and do what I said earlier.....That thing was born to jump.
If you look at the Jato's(stadium truck I think) body I tried to paint it as though it was metal going thru different stages of heat of course the front being the hottest, even though the engine is in the back.
Also a good trick for painting too is using temporary tattoos, that is what is on the front of the jato you see, I reccomend sticking with black only on the tattoos fake or real :P
Another trick with painting too is after you wash the inside the body for paint...Wash it again....
I learned this from a air brush painter that does these bodys and motorcycle tanks. Getting in the corners espically.

There used to be a Lesiban that worked with me at the sign shop; she was as cool as the other side of my pillow, we could both sit and talk about women together and when she noticed a pic of one of my rc trucks she says "oh yeah look at your man/boy toy" :D :D until she saw it scream across the parking lot later and wanted to run it herself.

Yeah buddy that is the same one I got and gave to my youngest son ( 6yr old  ;D), first time he saw it I was doing super dounuts in the street with it and told him this one is going to be his soon and he couldn't stop smiling.
I have since gotten him new street tires for it and new oil filled shocks.
You think that little devil is fast now get a brushless motor for it and a lipo battery with a little geraing change and watch your toes!
The guy I used to work with that turned me on to them sold me the revo and he had a mini t at the time and that thing had the lipo battery and a brushless motor(not sure which one) but that thing would do wheelies after reaching 45mph, just crazy fast.

What I want to get into is the motorcycles, those are kewl.

Look at some of the Jato videos, some of those guys are gearing them to do 85+ mph, I got mine up to 60 a few times and whew talk about hard to keep in control.... That is actually how I brok eth eJato the first time, too much throttle and no steering while doing that took me right into the curb.
Fail....

Seems im fighting different tuning gremlins with this car so far...found out tonight after someone suggested tuning the throttle settings..yea..turns out my Radio control was telling the cars digital throttle to put out 160% power when throttle is applied..that would explain the 10 foot long black marks down the straight when i accelerated away from the start lol

at least it was trying to win the race for ya.  ;)
besides, a good wildly fast start is the best impression left on the audience.   ;D

This is what im running in my RC12L4 which is a newer version of your car.

Trinity Cobalt 27T Stock Motor
LRP QC2 Speed Control
Airtronics MX-3 Remote control and Reciever.

Fairly basic but effective set up. The MX-3 Remote can be set up to 5 vehicles so you could use it on your RC10 as well.

That crawler in the video is geared WAY too high! Mine would'nt keep up with a brisk walk, but it would break your fingers. I ran lathe motors and 9 tooth pinions. 14 volt 8 cell. Mine would climb UP stairs without missing a beat or spinning a wheel.

That truck really needs a lot of tuning to be right.

You know when i first read this i wasn't exactly sure to either be offended or just shrug it off...Not everyone has the time nor money to flat out tune their rig straight out of the box...That vid was only the third time i ever drove the truck...figured it would be fun to tape vid of what was basically a learning experience when it came to RC Crawlers....that sort of response kinda has me wanting to leave the camera at home when i go out for events with either the Crawler or the RC12.
