Other than my introduction a week or so a go, this is my first post.
First, I'd like to say that this Website is a very valuable resource and I'd like to thank all involved for it's existance and success.
I am in the process of stripping the paint off of one of my tanks. The 5F5 paint stripper worked ok on the top of the tank but didn't even wrinkle the underside of the tank. I'd like to get all of the paint stripped before continuing. This is a second tank for my 750A, I have a couple of sets of side covers that will be painted to match. ( Ihave 3 tanks and 3 full sets of side covers for the 750A, why change bikes to change the personality, just swap out tanks and side covers).
my questions:
What do you guys use to strip paint and is the undwerside of the tank usually different than the top side?
Next, I have 2 other tanks for my 2- 74 -CB750K4's they are in nice original condition except for a little of the white for the HONDA lettering on the two of the tank emblems? Do you guys have a paint code for that white color or shoud I redo them with touch up paint after matching the color at the auto parts store?
I will have lots of other questions as I begin to finish my 10,000 mile all original 74 750K4.
Pix of all 4 bikes plus my sons 1982 650 will follow, I promise.
For the record, I read thru the FAQ and didn't see any items on this topic.. I tried.
Thanks to all in advance,
Otto
