Front fork leg length ???
« on: December 09, 2007, 07:06:05 PM »
My bike (bit of a hybrid) 1975/6 F0 CB750
Rescued some time ago from rusting away - nearing completion (I said that 12 months ago too)..
Just purchased some front forks complete from another F1 bike - and have found that the fork LOWERS are different lengths...

The ones I have on the bike measure 35cm or near to that from the underside of the axle retaining coupling to the top of the rubber dust cover...

The purchased ones measure 38cm over the same distance....can anyone tell me the correct length of the lowers or what the correct length should be ???

I believe I could make a good set out of the two sets I currently have (new seals of course)..

Note: the overall fork length seems to be the same on both sets (though the ones on the bike at the moment must be a little compressed)

thanks for any replies

thanks for the reply fuzzy -

I think the ones on the bike already may not be correct - just comparing the fork lowers they are the same in every respect except the length...am going to compare some photos and see if the original photos from honda show roughly where the rubber dust covers finish....
