Cracked friction plate
« on: December 19, 2007, 06:47:53 PM »
Is a single break in a friction plate a major crisis?  This happens to be on a CB200T, but its the same part number as "friction disk B" on a CB400F.

My belief is since it is fully contained by the outer clutch basket, and I place it in the position that has the "least movement" when the clutch is disengaged, it oughta sit there and do its job until I can get a new plate.

Don't have a good answer...but if you're hurting for a clutch disk I have an old set from my 400F somewhere in the garage.  It slipped a little, but you could probably de-glaze and use it.

Thanks for the offer.  I'll check with Stubbs on the offhand chance this plate might be common to some other more modern models and they might actually have one.  If not, I have an old 350F engine I should be able to rob one from.
