I just ordered from sporting for less on ebay, pods for a 78 cb 750,and they did not fit! Same ones, I think? Now I am out the shipping, but hopefully will get a refund on the purchase.
I don't think anyone mentioned that the choke handle also needs to be modified for pods.
Soon after I posted pics of "Project Jasper", folks began asking where I got those pods. Of course I learned the hard way when I bought the wrong ones.....These cone shaped, tapered ones, are too deep for the bike. The pod will be squished and will hit the frame. DO NOT BUY THE LARGE TAPERED CONE SHAPED 39MM PODS.Here is an example of what the smooshed tapered pod will look like:Sorry, wpnssgt_usaf... you took the picture, so I couldn't resist using it for an example.
Tapered pods that fit:$39.80http://www.crc2onlinecatalog.com/pod_filters.htm (1st one on the list)Thanks dustyc!
Here are pods short enough to fit, but expensive:http://www.fastcycleparts.com/showproduct.aspx?siteid=2&productid=6102&CategoryID=0&SectionID=0

If I install pod filters, will it take a lot of work to tune the carbs? I do have four carb tuners, but will it require A LOT of tweaking? Or just get em so they're all adjusted the same and that should be fine?I remember reading another thread on hear about pods, and people had trouble with them at different speeds (50-100mph)
