P.S. I wonder how much lumber went into that track? :o

a lot of flooring there eh? It looks like 2 1/2" t-n-g flooring.
I hate to go down though, think of the splinters.  ;D

The board track racing was finally banned due to the injuries sustained when loose pieces of the track would come up and catch the bikes.
Some deaths later and no more board track racing!

While most of his peers didn't make it out of their 20's, the legendary board track racer Jim Davis lived to be over 100 years old !

I saw Jim Davis at Del Mar in 96, he was at the mike and spoke a few words at the bike show..

 amazing that he survived as long as he did..
