Twin Falls

We're cutting timber one mountain over from these falls.
I wanted to see them for years so we hiked over this afternoon.

There have been several folks killed here and the pictures don't do
justice to how steep it is. I wonder if I could get Gerhed
to do one of those panoramic shoot here. ;D

Looking over the top,

First time I've been thankful for mountain laurel (we didn't have a rope).

Northern fall,

Southern fall is iced in,

Were the two meet,

That's nice rugged looking country RM. It's great to be your own boss and be able to goof off a day when you want. ;)

a day, ha, we cut one load this morning, jogged over to the falls and back, made it back to the
log site at 3:30 and cut another load before dark.  ;D ;D ;D

I meant to mention, gps doesn't work down in the falls.
Lost the satellites down there. I'm glad to know there are still places a
satellite can't spot.  ;D ;D Also, the compass doesn't work to great in
our mountains, to much iron.  ;D ;D ;D

What equipment are you using RM?  Those big hardwood trees look heavy.

Old almost worn out timber jack from Canada no less.
(you can't wear out a timber jack just replace parts)

International truck and a case loader backhoe to load.

sometimes have to pick up one end of the log and back the
truck under it and then scoot it up on the truck ;D

It gets real hard to get Jordan off the Jack sometimes.
Works his old dad pretty hard.  ;D ;D

Appears to be a great way to earn a living RM - self-employed, lots of exercise, fresh air and all in Gods' garden. And peaceful, at breaks anyway. :)

Rocking,

Great looking country !
It does deserve a serious panoramic effort.
Maybe when things thaw out a bit.
I'll know it's warm enough when the brakes on
the Fiat stop sticking !

You fellows are welcome up anytime. There is also a motorcycle Camp ground just a few miles from me on the parkway.
Nice fellow runs it and even trucks in breakfast in the morning. If any of you ever plan a trip down this way I'll
either help you find a good place to stay, bed n breakfast or the local motel called the Pine Tavern.
Or my barn ;D
