Sure will Billy, it will be fire up time shortly. I just found out that my son has a digital cam corder and has internet access.
Will get him to film it all. He is going to be comming to more meetings with us so should get some good footage.
I will have to get him to join the forum so he can post pics for me.

Was hoping to have it running at the weekend but had a couple of glitches.
I needed to take a couple of links out of the chain but my splitter broke. I thought no problem, the new bike shop that has just opened down the road will sort it Saturday morning.
I had bought some new braided brake lines from him the week before, he seemed a nice guy.
With just the rear wheel and chain to sort along with bleeding the rear brake system, I thought we would still be up and running Saturday afternoon.
The rear brake was fine until I tried to spin the back wheel...sh!t...warped disc  >:( >:( >:( >:(
I phoned the HRC stockest first thing Saturday morning and a new aloy disc was on it's way.
While I was waiting on the guy (Alan) doing my chain I was looking what oils he had in stock for two stroke race motors.
He had Fuchs/Silkolene at £12.50 ltr :o :o :o (never bought 2T oil for many moons) He returned from the workshop with the chain and said what are you looking at...I replied the two stroke oil. He then told me that if I put the name of his new business on the bike I could have all the oil I needed ;D ;D ;D
The bike didn't get to run, but what a nice weekend.

Hey, sponsorship ain't bad!!

As to splinting a chain, I've gotten lazy, I grind the rivet heads off and just take a chisel to it.
When I put the chain back together I made a rivet setter out of an old c-clamp.
First I take some vise grips and get the correct depth on the chain side plate (right squish on the o rings that is)
and then take my c-clamp and flare the rivets. Pretty fast too.

So are you on for next weekend?

I could have ground it off myself but thought he would have a splitter (he used a grinder as ell  ;D ::) )

Should have the new rear disc tomorrow ($60  :o ) and be ready for the weekend as long as there are no more problems but the weather forcast for the weekend is not good.  >:( >:( >:(

Looks like your patience has paid off, Sam. Can't wait to see how ya do :)

How much of a Flying Start do ya get on the F/S runs, and what speed do you estimate your at when you cross the start?
Give me..a frame to build a bike on, and my imagination will build upon that frame

Well we'll find out in the next few months Sean what is to be expected.

The coarse is 3344 yards long (1.9 miles). If the 3 distances are set up central to the middle of the coarse, the run in distances are, 792 yards into the flying mile, 1122 yards into the flying kilo and 1452 yards into the flying quarter.

Unlike the big bikes, the small ones are usually able to reach their maximum speed before any of the start traps, with the only exception being the mile.  the mile and kilo are run on the highest gearing the bike will pull.

I am hoping mine will pull to somewhere in the region of 126 to 130 mph.

It will be geared down some for the standing quarter but on the low gearing it becomes a bit of a handfull.  :o :o :o

I think the standing quarter might be my only stumbling block. It needs to run mid 12s and I'm not sure if that is possible without nitrous.

Thanks for looking in Sean.

Sam. ;)

I suppose that also depends on how much lard what the operator weight is.  ;D   What hp do you think this Honda RS125 develops now Sam?

Well young Dave, lard does come into it but set up is more important.
Look at My times on the CR compaired to Chris's, he is double my weight and almost a second quicker.
Look at one of the UKs top top fuel drag racers, weighs nearly the same as a SOHC 750. :o :o :o

The bike weighs about 150lbs and has around 40bhp on tap. At the moment I weigh 160lbs and need to get down to my race weight of 145lbs.

This seasons testing and getting it set up in time for the 2009 British Records weekend will be whats important.
There are 2  2day meetings over the Kilo and Mile and the same later in the season. If the bike or myself for some reason can't reach the target times at the first two meetings, then it's nitrous time. ;D ;D ;D
There are plenty of meetings over the quarter mile but I am much more intrested in the outright speed record.

Talking about lard again, I forgot to mention, the aloy disc came today.
I weighed them both, the steel one was 15 ozs and the aloy one was just 5 oz.
Dave, is that 10 ozs I don't need to loose of myself ? ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Sean, the factory ones that you see on TV in the Moto GPs hit around 150mph, even the kitted bikes are over 140mph but the cost is around $40,000 :o :o :o :o :o  not the sort of money that a honest security guard earns ;D ;D ;D ;D

No matter how much money it costs there will always be something faster. You don't have to watch this one on the telly though, it's yours and you'll be riding it. That's what gets me excited . Give'em hell, Sam ;) 8)
