Chicago visit
« on: February 21, 2008, 01:30:02 PM »
Just looking for a bit of advice. Gonna do the right thing this weekend and drive my wife and M.I.L. to Chicago this weekend. Drew the line at going with the ladies to the Opera Friday night, so I'm looking for advice on what to do / where to go for a married middle age guy to listen to some Chicago style Blues on a Friday night?

Any ideas from the locals?

Go to Buddy Guy's joint called Legend's.

Buddy Guy's Legends,
754 S. Wabash
Chicago IL, 60605

and it's not too far from downtown from the theater district.

Wandered around River North area and stumbled on Andy's Jazz Club.
Had a nice evening sipping scotch and listening to
Henry Johnson's and Peter Lerner's band.

My wife would enjoy a blues club so that'll be next visit.

We went ice skating at Millenium Park saturday morning. I can't skate, but did not fall. My wife skates well. I made BIG brownie points.
