What material to use to print custom gauge graphics? CB400f
« on: February 24, 2008, 11:57:13 AM »
I designed custom gauge graphics for my CB400f project on my lunch hour, but want to know what material to print these on. I have read several threads on this forum and others but they are vague on the actual material on which to print. Many mention vinyl sign material while other commercial replacements are thin and applied with soapy water (Carpy's). Is there a place to have these printed (reasonably) as decals?

I thought about silk screening them on aluminum or plastic discs with glow-in-the-dark ink for the white areas, but these have several colors requiring several screens and will be much effort for one pair...

What materials have others printed on successfully? Where can I buy it?

Thanks!

Hello, I work at a signshop. I would suggest getting them printed on some nice thick paperstock and then have them laminated with a U.V. protection film. Most print service bureaus will do this If you near San Francisco I would do them for a slice of pizza. Be wary of kinko's those people don't know what they are doing. hope this helps
