Topic: What is this thingy? Bare frame ?

Hey guys need some help. I got her all stripped down and I'm cutting off the bits i don't need/want. But....  what is the hook shapped do-hickey in the middle of the pic?  I don't remember what it did or what may have been attached to it.

You not using a centerstand anymore?  Might as well cut the mounts off as well.

just curious.  Why would you remove your center stand mount.  It would be nice to be able to easily change your mind...or a future owners mind.

That frame looks like its long past anyone changing their mind    Cut it off!

Just so long as you left the sidestand mount in place of course

i'm making a stand off bracket to work with my kerker and putting the one off of my 75 750f onto the 74 750k

Your rearset mounts look great, Is that a solid machined piece at the end with a clearance hole for the rearset bolt to go straight through? I am currently working out that bit, I'm thinking smaller tube (approx 1/2") in a triangle like yours. Then swaged down at the end and welded to some 1/4" plate. Much like the rear dropouts on a pushbike.

tintin - I cut the side stand off too. I have a great sense of balance and I'm hoping my bike does, if not I'll just throw it on the ground like my mountain bike. j/k I did cut the side stand off, cuz it hits the rear sets when it is up. I'll be moving it forward a few inches. Below is a pic of what I do instead of a center stand.



plastikjock - that is a solid piece machined with a counterbore to recess a SHCS from the inside. Here are a few more pics minus the counterbore....
