Do CB550 airscrews need o-rings?
« on: March 16, 2008, 09:24:54 AM »
I was just cleaning my carbs and noticed my airscrews don't have any o-rings on them.  When I looked at some rebuild kits they show them without.  Do I need them?  If so where can I get them since the don't seem to be part of the rebuild kits?

The gasket sets from honda cost less than any of those and are supposed to have all the necessary bits. The metal parts don't usually wear out.

Happy trails.

All 550s are not the same.
The 77-78 Cb550 carbs need orings on the pilot screws.

These are from '75.  They look just like the airscrews in the kit shown in the link above.  There is a flat recess that doesn't look like an o-ring would fit.

The 75 Cb550 carb pilot screws do not need o rings.  They meter air.  So, if they leak some air in, they meter that, too.
