Red Kote

I just lined my tank with Red Kote and was wondering if anyone who has used the stuff had any problems with it pooling in the bottom of the tank? The can says this is should be avoided but given the shape of my tank, it seems unavoidable. It's going to have until spring to dry so I hope it won't be a problem.

I have used Red before and did not have that problem, I held my tanks for probably 1/2 an hour spining it round and round. If possible I would suggest setting the tank on an angle so the pool will hopefully drain out one of the tank holes provided it has not begun to set yet. Maybe try put a fan blowing directly above it to help make sure the air flows inside the tank?

Yes I have 4 tanks with Red Kote. Great stuff. My last one was done on a touring bike that I had to get on the road immediately. There was pooling on the bottom and it wasn't fully cured. It still is perfect with no ill effects.

the trick to doing tanks is obsessive rotation.  it doesn't have to be continuous, but frequent.

sit on the couch (with respirator) watch some tv.  every commercial, rotate.  do this for longer than you can see movement of the product.
