Topic: white spacers on the 750 engine fins- replacement

 missing a few on the fins they say you need them so the fins don't vibrate?,,seems like they are made of silicone,wonder if Honda carries them

Nope, they don't. As soon as I find a supplier, I will. But, they will likely not be gray, like the originals, probably black. They were dark gray when new.

I have made them before by slicing test tube stoppers, but it takes some time....

Try a Ducati supplier.  I know for a fact the 99 900ssie had these in grey.

I havent got any of these on my bike, and cant say i`ve ever seen any.
Are they vital?
Any chance of a couple of pics?
What models where they used on?
No urgency but i`m curious.

I pry'd them out of my bike before I painted it and never put them back. It's not like the fins are going to vibrate enough to break off. Not needed unless you are going for a 100 point resto.

I have found a couple sources for replacements but they are black, not the original grey but they're a couple bucks a piece and you need I think 34 of them for a K0.  In fact there is a guy on eBay listing them for $5 a piece if you're really desparate.  I think the vibration issue is noise not breaking.  I've left mine off for now but every time I hit a boneyard I scrounge a couple and when I get enough I'll probably put them back in.

Honda put them on in order to avoid fin vibrations and in order to keep the engine quit.
Normally you do not need them,.....but I'm glad, I have two new complete sets of the original and soft
rubbers which I will use on my next projects.

Don't powder coaters use a high temp silicone plug that looks similar?

Thought I'd seen something like that somewhere.  Something to try at least.

thanks for the info,I guess they came in black gray and white,on the k8 they are white,they fit on the holes drilled on the fins maybe honda had those holes drilled just for them,

well actually when i pulled one out ,the plugs have little nipples to fit the hole,   my words sound kind of dirty

When  I'm back in the workshop i will shoot some pics of the NOS pieces.
Yepp, there are two small 'noses' on the spacer to fit the holes on the fins.
Meanwhile, a funny pics of my old "pancake" rubbers, when I purchased the bike.

since they are made of silicone when i have time i'll get some tubing like some car fuel line or maybe a rubber hose and fill it up with permatex silicone,then cut out the silicone mold with exacto knife to make some spacers and  also make the nipples with the exacto knife .you could also make a mold for the nipples somehow, ah just a crazy idea that might work
