KO Fuse Question

The below pictures shows what came on my KO from the PO.  Is there some reason for this 20 amp fuse box thing vs a regular fuse in the holder?  Are all the KO's like this?  If not, then why do you think this is on there?

1973 CB750K3 - Candy Bacchus Olive or Sunflake Orange
1970 Chevy Chevelle SS396 - Cortez Silver

How clever. It's a circuit breaker soldered to a blown fuse. Someone obviously got tired of replacing blown fuses. 20A is probably a bit more than that fuse should be.

As Mark says, the PO probably got tired of replacing blown fuses, but WHY were they blowing in the first place?

I'd be looking very closely at the rest of the harness.

Hmmm...I drove the bike for 2 months and never had a problem.  You are right, the manual says 15 amp.  I have the harness apart now I will take a look at it.  Is there any reoccuring problem 750's are prone to with wiring problems if all is dry and no corrosion is noted anywhere on this bike?

John, I never had any problems back in the day, or after 22 yrs. of idle time. But before putting it back on the road, now almost 4 yrs, I went through the entire wiring harness, connection-by-connection. Cleaned each one and then a dab of dielectric grease before shoving them together.
We'll all be someone else's PO some day.

looks like a HD breaker.. after about a minute, they reset..

 not a solution, but easier than changing a fuse..
