Deep Impact
« on: August 12, 2005, 02:05:11 PM »
Just watching the film Deep Impact on TV. Although I have seen it before and all is well in the end it makes me wonder.
In two hours from now the UK will experience a massive meteor storm lasting for two hours, with a meteor rate of 200 per min. ;D

Keep it full of gas and pointed down the road to make your getaway!  Of course, all of the UK would be swamp land if one landed anywhere nearby  :D

I love the way the bike make it up the hill just as the wave reaches its full height.  Just like the day after tomorrow the wave came down that street at 100 mph for 1 minute.  I guess if your saving a pretty girl nature gives you some slack.  Must have been a mess of ugly ones up the street though.

These wonderful little birds are great flyers, delicious eating, excellent for training your hunting dog, and just fun to shoot,or stuff and keep around the house.  Bobwhites can be put with other types of Quail and have very large penis's.  Quail are very popular with the babes.

I think that eveytime I see a big wave movie.  The cars in the water would be a tad rough.

A mate of mine was on hoiliday in Indonesia when the tsunami struck.
He was three floors up in the hotel when he saw the wave still a long way out at sea.
He actualy called to his friends to get their surf boards before he realised what it was.
They were the lucky ones as they managed to get up several more floors before it hit the hotel.
The rest you know.

When Ghosty changed his avatar to the plane wreck, I think it was Ernie asked about the dog.
I spotted what he was on about but it went right over Ghosties head, and you have to fly pretty dam high to get above our Mr Ghost. ;D ;D ;D

Its a Super DC-3 I used to fly. The new owners crew wrecked it in Florida. (Ah Florida the "new" Cuba  ;D)

I actually have like 1000 hrs in the carcass you see burning in the street. What a sad end.

I have to inquire: What separates a DC-3 from the Super variety? Did Douglas retire the Cyclones?

Off topic but......

Most DC-3's had Pratt and Whitney engines developing 1200 HP. Yes there were a few made with Wright cyclones at 1200 hp.

The Super DC-3 was about 60 % new airplane. It had Wrights at 1475 hp. It had a shorter wing (90 Ft Vs 96) which was flush riveted. The fusalage was stretched 18 inches. Engines and main gear where faired with speed cowls, Tailwheel was retractable. The tail was all new. It was squared off at the ends. The tail Cord was shorter and the span was increased. The controls (aileron, elevator, rudder) where all boosted with servo tabs. Plus alot more little differences.

K,

It was good to hear they all got out in one piece, it's not the normal outcome of a crash.
Talking about air plane engines, a guy that lives down the road from me has been talking about a jet engined bike for some time.
Although he has the motor he has not got round to fitting it yet.
Goto www.twofaced.f9.co.uk then click on what next.
Take a look at some of his videos from the sixties to the present for some tyre smoking action.

He doesn't talk much about it, but I know Rawalpindi for sure. Burma-India for a time, anyway. I'm thinking that would put him in a Blenheim or possibly a Beaufighter. Lot of guessing when people don't communicate.
