Off topic but......
Most DC-3's had Pratt and Whitney engines developing 1200 HP. Yes there were a few made with Wright cyclones at 1200 hp.
The Super DC-3 was about 60 % new airplane. It had Wrights at 1475 hp. It had a shorter wing (90 Ft Vs 96) which was flush riveted. The fusalage was stretched 18 inches. Engines and main gear where faired with speed cowls, Tailwheel was retractable. The tail was all new. It was squared off at the ends. The tail Cord was shorter and the span was increased. The controls (aileron, elevator, rudder) where all boosted with servo tabs. Plus alot more little differences.
