david silver EX valves

Looks like my race engine is going to need new exhaust valves soon.

A short search yelded 60$ per ONE original honda valve at cmsnl.com and western hills honda. gosh!

David silver has some 'pattern' ones, does anybody has any experience with these?

I work my engine pretty hard so just wanted to know if these are regarded as good as the originals.

Cheers
TG

mmm. OK, I see no one has ever tried them, so I'll rephrase my question.

Are there any cheaper sources for stock CB500 exhaust valves?

Thanks

Hymodyne just sent me aftermarket intakes and exhausts. I haven't looked at the exhausts but the intakes are made in Japan which is a good start. Overtly they look OK and, if anything, have a better stem tip them many of the OEM intakes. A lot of the OEM's have a bevel ground around the tip which reduces the face area and can be a problem with higher lift cams.

Have you checked with Buzz at www.dynoman.net. They seem to source lots of goodies.

 Turboguzzi,

I got my valves from a supplier of Japanese valves in Thailand. I found him on ebay after doing a search for cb500 intake and exhaust valves. If you mention my screen name (same for ebay as for sohc4 site) He should remember. His ebay record was very good. He was selling valves in pairs, one intake, one exhaust, but I was able to get him to sell me a set of four exhaust at a very good price.

This is his email:

The guy who runs this is Rene a former SOHC mailing list member and really nice guy. If you do contact him say hello from Andy (he put me up one night on my Europe trip).
