Hello to everyone from Corning, NY. I purchased a 1978 CB 550K in 2000 and have ridden it every summer since. My Dad, brother and I used to tinker with an old Honda when I was a kid, and these days I keep my CB tuned and running just for old time's sake. This year my boy showed interest in what was happening when I pulled it apart for "spring cleaning," so it seems like the apple didn't fall far from the tree.
And, after 8 years of resisting temptation, I installed some cafe racer handlebars last weekend - and they look great. (There's no telling when I'll stop tweaking the looks now.) I'm very pleased to have stumbled across this group, and wish I had done so years ago!
I'm in the market for a '78 CB 550K grab bar and exhaust, if you have any recommendations or leads ... although I expect there's a better forum to ask about such things. At any rate, I'm looking forward to participating with the group and I'll post pictures when I have them. Cheers!
