What's needed for a 836cc Big Bore Kit?
« on: August 15, 2005, 06:35:58 AM »
I was looking into the option of installing a 836cc big bore kit, and I wanted to know what stock components need to be replaced during the build up.  Can you use a big bore kit to get a few more horses... is there a noticable different?  Can I still have a very reliable Honda ('71 CB750) that will last a long time with a big bore kit?  836cc big bore kit experiences?  Thanks.

It makes a difference. The extra compression helps torque. A bigger cam helps. I'd replace the cam chain and clutch springs. You will have to replace some OEM parts based on wear. It is a reliable package.

I would very interested in obtaining more information about the 863cc big bore upgrade. I am getting ready to rebuild / overhaul my '76 chop. I would appreciate any information that could be provided.

The Wiseco 836 kit is available through Megacycle cams along with a cam made to run with these pistons.
They suply the head gasket and they can suply stronger springs.

Good luck  Sam.
