On the road again...
« on: May 14, 2008, 11:25:20 PM »
Well folks, I finally worked all the kinks out of the rides, swapped the spark plugs, changed the oil and I'm ready to rock and roll.

Here's some pics of the finished products for ya (sorry, they're icky Yamahas but they're still beautiful to me!  ;D)

My little 650 Bruiser (should have the new tank badge decals in this weekend, we'll see what they look like then!):

And the 850 Cruiser:

One of these days I'll pick up a '71 or '72 CB750 and restore it...  But for now I'm settled in on these two  ;D

Nice XS

Which one?  :D

They're both '81 Yamaha XS bikes  ;D  ;)

The cafe will have rearsets welded on from a Seca 750 soon...  If the guy ever sends the damn parts.  I'm excited about those coming in!

Two wheels...good; four wheels...bad. Just keep repeating the mantra.

Anyone who gives any older motorcycle a new lease on life deserves a pat on the back. I'm also Yamaha biased, of course.

I like the 850!

I had a project-bike '77 750 not long ago.  Got it for next to nothing, and it needed almost everything, mechanically.  I rebuilt the carbs and finally got it running, and it smoked worse than any two-stroke I ever owned!  Of course, it had 60K miles on it, so.....

But, it had the (as I later learned) infamous problem of jumping out of second gear.  Had it bad, as it wouldn't even stay in 2nd at all.  Whoever put all those miles on it must've just shifted right on thru from 1st to 3rd...

I finally gave up on 'er and parted it out on flea-bay.  Feel kinda bad about that, even now. :-[

Anyway, yours are looking good!  Looks like nice weather that day, too!

Enjoy 'em!
