So, I removed my headlight bucket for painting, along with the headlight ears and gauges, etc.  Getting the headlight off was a major PITA 'cause I had to pull all the connections to get the wires out of the headlight.  There was very little slack, and everything was wrapped and tangled and all.  It's a late '70 K1, BTW.  How do I put it back together?  Is there a trick or something?  Or do I just have to go wire-by-wire with my hands crammed into the headlight trying to find all the connections?

A couple pairs of long needle nose pliers really help you see where you're doing.

Pretty much wire-by-wire. Fortunately, Honda did a good job with the color coding (assuming this is a stock harness). Take them one at a time and match the colors. Not sure if the K1 harness is different, but on the K0 I found I had one unused female (brown I think) connector left. Must have been used in some other application, because everything worked fine.
We'll all be someone else's PO some day.

Bob is correct.  There is a brown female not used in there.  I just put my bucket back together after paint 2 weeks ago.  It really went together problem free.  I did have to use a test light to get the blinker wire ends back in the right spot.  I also used a hair dryer to help bend that heavy wire protection in the angle I wanted.  Good luck with it.  I think you will be fine...

Brown wire is for markets like UK where ther is a 3watt running light (same bulb as idiot lights) in a seperate fitting in the headlamp reflector, which were replaceable bulb type and never sealed beam by the way
