« on: May 20, 2008, 03:35:49 AM »
it's summer, your going down a winding two lane highway, it''s sunny
you drop a gear, crack the throttle
what song goes through your head
for me it's almost always radar love

Rush's Red Barchetta

Well-weathered leather
Hot metal and oil
The scented country air
Sunlight on chrome
The blur of the landscape
Every nerve aware

If I'm pushing it, "Bodhisattva" by Steely Dan
If I'm just crusing, maybe Felix Cavalieri singing "Groovin"

A buddy of mine once admitted that when he's riding, he hears Frank Sinatra in his head.  Didn't know quite what to make of that :D

For me, oddly enough, it's usually "Freddie Freeloader" by Miles Davis.

I think it has a lot to do with the fact that the note that the engine puts out when it's sounding it's best matches the key of that song perfectly. :)

and besides, it's a damn fine tune!

I tried that once before, but it bugged the crap out of me so I turned it off.  I'm just too used to being able to hear the engine and the sounds of everything else around me to be able to enjoy listening to music while riding.  In the car, though, I have to have music playing.

I love that song.  I have that album.

On the more mellow side, "Ghost Rider" by Rush.  The entire song is about riding a motorcycle.
